Postpartum

It happens to almost all people involved in a play. It doesn't matter how much work the whole thing was, or how many things may have gone wrong in the lead up to the show, or how there were days you just wished it would all be over, in the end, it's all rather sad when it's done.

Yes Summerworks ended last night. And A Weekend in the Country had it's last show that afternoon. I have to say it was a rather brilliant run. Great houses, amazing audiences who just laughed and laughed (we can only as assume with, not at, us) and of course stellar performances from my amazing actors.

Oh and lots of blood getting all over the place!

Heck we even had a fan who wanted autographs from everyone after the show!

And then we celebrated with a very long party that went from the afternoon through to the wee hours of the morning.

All in all, a good thing.

I will miss it though.

Now it is all about focusing 100% on the writing! - but probably a bit of a hiatus with the blog entries as I am getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow. Oh. Yay.

Hugs to you all!

ugh. Good luck on the wisdom teeth, hope everything goes well--that does not sound fun! (My brother doens't have them, lucky goose.)

I remember everyone in the cast of our school musical was devastated when it was over. We had all made so many friends. We even had a site to get together and talk about it and had a day of mourning for the musical, wearing black and all.

Ha, yes, we were a bit immature.

What an accomplishment! I'm just so sorry I couldn't attend (being on the other side of the world and all!). I bet you all had the time of your lives. You are a young woman going places, Adrienne.

Ahh, teeth! Coincidently, I just had one out today!

Oh God, wisdom teeth time. I hope that all goes smoothly for you. I had some major dental work a couple of summers back. I pre-emptively feel your pain.

Yes, but isn't that what are best memories are? They are usually things that, while they might be frustrating at the time, are nice to look back on later. Like a firts girl/boyfriend, or school, or a Billy Idol concert.

ok, maybe not so much the concert, but you get the general idea.

Good luck on the wisdom teeth. You have my sympathy.

I've been away for a while, but congrats on a successful show, and on your book's UK release, and on being the subject of a competition! Whew!

And just look at the whole wisdom tooth thing as an excuse to eat lots of ice cream! Hope you're feeling OK!!

Ah yes, I definitely know that feeling. :(

Ah ... I remember that feeling. Spend some time lavishing comforts on yourself. It may help. Good luck with the teeth and your writing!

The end of a run is always hard.

Good luck on the wisdom teeth -- I was bedridden for a week when I had mine out.

I'm back! I hope to write a blog entry tomorrow, but right now to answer:

hwalk - thanks, things went fine, but I'm still recovering really, have another check up tomorrow. Your brother has no wisdom teeth? Lucky lucky boy.

megan - no not immature at all. It totally always happens. I cried like a crazy person at the cast party for Macbeth last fall.

dawn - it was great fun, and we did really well! Also my cast was fantastic. You had a tooth out too! We're tooth sisters!

doug - thank you. It went smoothly, but still really hurt after. But I am much better now.

david - yes I suppose it is nice to have nice memories, better than to not have any at all. Still the sadness is always difficult to contend with at first.

linda - thank you so much!

erin - I knew you would! I suppose you could say that doing a play is like pulling teeth. There is a lot of pain and effort into the doing of it, but then it gets done, most often successfully, and all that remains is a hollow emptiness. My god I'm profound.

tori - I and my parents spoiled me rotten, you can be reassured of that!

travis - thanks, and I'll be back officially in the sphere tomorrow!

devon - thank you for that! My lovely friend Joanna tells me that for her 3 days and she was back to normal, no pain at all for her. In fact that's what a lot of people told me. I felt like such a wimp. You make me feel a bit better!

Yes, I know some folks like that, too ... they are *not* normal! Getting my wisdom teeth out was the most painful thing I've ever experienced. It is the only time in my life I actually wished I were dead. (I didn't want to post this earlier, but since you've come through it, I'll share now!)

Glad you are feeling better, and so happy you're back!
